Sapa - Bac Ha 3 nights 4 days

Bac Ha is one of the gems of Vietnam’s north. At a lower altitude than Sapa, it’s not as spectacularly beautiful but it’s still scenic and also much less touristy. The real draw to Bac Ha is the vibrant Sunday market attended by local Flower H’mong, Tay, Dzao, Nung and Giay ethnic minorities. Of all, there are 10 different ethnic minority groups who live in and around Bac Ha, and a visit to the market is a great way to introduce you to their way of life. You could haggle for a pig, a chicken, a water buffalo or perhaps just some handicrafts and some of the renowned local wine. Either way, you’re sure to be charms by the city and it’s famously friendly people.

Night 1 (Thursday night):

You will be picked up at your hotel 1 hour before train departure for transfer to the train station. Overnight on the train

Day 1 (Friday): Lao Cai - Sapa (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

06.00: Our guide meets you at Lao Cai train station and departs for Sapa by minibus. Arriving in Sapa mid – morning, you’ll check in the hotel. Breakfast.

13.00: After lunch, our guide takes you to visit two Black H’mong villages and a waterfall. There you’ll have a chance to see the hydroelectric power station built be the French. Then we’ll be back to Sapa for dinner. In the evening, you’re free to do as you wish, you can explore the town of Sapa and we highly recommend a stop at the Love Market ( only on Saturday night)

Day 2 (Saturday): Sapa (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

07.00: After breakfast, our guide takes you to the villages populated by H’mong and Dzao people, respectively called Lao Chai and Ta Van.

11.00: You’ll have lunch either with an ethnic minority family or on the way to Giang Ta Chai village where most of the inhabitants are Red Dzao

18.00: Return to Sapa, the evening is all yours. We highly recommend you a stop at the Love Market ( only on Saturday night).

Day 3 (Sunday): Sapa - Bac Ha - Hanoi (Breakfast, Lunch)

08.00: Following breakfast, you’ll depart Sapa for Bac Ha to visit the vivid, colorful minority market. You’ll have 3 hours to stroll around the unique Flower H’mong village and Bac Ha market before coming back to Sapa.

12.00: You’ll have lunch either with an ethnic minority family

PM: Back to Lao Cai to catch a night train back to Hanoi at 21.00

Arrival in Hanoi around 4.00 am on Monday morning
